Why did you start this site?

I started The Non-Clinical PT to create a resource for physical therapy professionals who wish to leverage their degrees in non-clinical settings.

When I realized that I wasn’t happy in patient care, there was no recourse. I had to create my own path, and it wasn’t an easy process. I want to make things easier for other PTs.

What are your goals for The Non-Clinical PT?

My goals are as follows:

  • Create a master resource where PTs can find everything they need to use their degrees in non-clinical settings.
  • Create a community for both clinical and non-clinical PTs, where ideas are shared and collaboration is encouraged.
  • Encourage PTs who have left patient care to share their knowledge and experiences with other PTs who are trying to make similar career moves.

Do you have a job other than The Non-Clinical PT?

Yes! I work full-time in the content/copywriting field. I no longer work in patient care, though. Because I do work full-time, please forgive me if I don’t respond to messages immediately 🙂 I will get back to you, though! Promise!

Is this page for PTAs, too? What about OTs or COTAs?

Yes! All rehab professionals are welcome and encouraged to get involved! Please reach out and share your stories, and feel free to ask questions that might apply uniquely to PTAs, COTAs, OTs, SLPs, etc.

Is there a list of companies that are known to hire non-clinical PTs?

There sure is! It’s an ever-growing list of companies, and you can find it on the resources page. If you know any companies I should add, please let me know 🙂
